House of Hope1 min read

Two young ladies from Southeast Michigan started a ministry that supports and helps the ALICE population in mobile home communities where they live and serve.

Show Notes:

House of Hope is a mobile home-based 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Oakland County. We aim to be a resource to the families in the mobile home communities where we both live and serve. These resources include youth groups, community events, mentoring, food, and clothing assistance.

House of Hope Core Values:

A safe place | An accepting environment | An encouraging voice | A safe set of ears | Difference makers and legacy creators | The hands and feet of Jesus

This ministry was born out of Faith, Troy and the founders received a StartNew Explorer grant. To learn more about StartNew, click here.

Allyssa and Brooke,
God’s abundant blessings on House of Hope.
I wrote an article, “On the Street and in the Neighborhood” (https://michigandistrict.org/
commission/on-the-street-and-in-the-neighborhood), in February 2023 that was posted on the Michigan Districted Blog. And your ministry as described in this podcast is a living example of what I wanted to convey in this article. Here is a quote from the article expressing what I mean. “Again, is it practical to establish more churches/mission stations throughout our communities? This seems to be an impossible question to answer until one realizes that we have hundreds, potentially thousands, of mission stations already established throughout the study area. These stations look like this: There is a church family living in a neighborhood, an apartment complex, or maybe a trailer park, wherever they call home. And across the street or the hall, next to and kitty corner to their residence, are several residences that may now or in the future need the hand of Jesus.”
I pray the hand of the Lord will continue to prosper House of Hope and be an example for others who are called to serve their neighbors in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
