REVIVE: At the Heart of This Year’s En Gedi Music Festival3 min read

The En Gedi Music Festival (EGMF) is a two-day Christian event featuring regional and national contemporary Christian music artists. It will take place July 23-24, 2021 at the En Gedi Campground River Resort in Leonidas, Mich.

You will enjoy a variety of national artists on the Main Stage for both days. Saturday brings added excitement when the Tentmaker Music Stage fires up with talented up-and-coming regional and national artists!

David Grimm, festival director and pastor at Creator’s Praise Mission, says, “This is one of the highlights of the summer. And the best part is that we get to have so much fun while sharing the Gospel and helping people experience the reviving work of God following some of the toughest times of their lives.”

The atmosphere of this festival is perfect for families, groups, and individuals. Many people enjoy finding a shady spot and relaxing as they listen to and experience the many great artists. Others love to go up to the stage where they eagerly join in with singing, dancing, and praising God with their favorite bands!

God’s reviving work impacts everyone who is involved, whether you are a sponsor, director, artist, attendee, or volunteer. Volunteer coordinator Dana Sherman says, I am excited to show the love of Christ by being ‘for’ our festival volunteers, emphasizing and encouraging each volunteer to grow to their fullest potential. Each year, En Gedi Music Fest needs hundreds of volunteers. The volunteer is one of the most important aspects of the festival. One servant heart serving another makes a successful festival for all attendees.”

The 2020 theme of RECOVERY was chosen well before the Coronavirus entered the picture. God truly directed the theme selection as many were craving and needing the recovery that only God could—and did—provide in the field named “The Recovery Zone”!

This year’s EGMF theme is REVIVE, taken from Psalm 71:20: “You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.” Some of the side effects of pandemic lockdowns and precautions exist in the many people who are suffering physically, mentally, financially, emotionally, and spiritually. The list, unfortunately, goes on and on, but we have a God who promises through His Word to give new life and revive us again. He wants to help us. He has provided people, communities of faith, and ministries all around us. We can hardly wait to see the plans God has in bringing REVIVAL to and through the Christian church to communities, families, and individuals.

Each year we invite Christian ministries to be a part of the festival. We are honored that the Michigan District has become a sponsor of this event, and we hope to feature many of the ministries of the District to the people in this part of Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana. We feel it is one of our most important jobs to connect people to the churches and ministries that are all around them.

We are excited to again cast the spotlight away from the En Gedi Music Festival stage and shine it on the reviving work of God, where it has happened and where it will continue to happen. Come, be uplifted, and encouraged as we bask in the summer Son and celebrate our God who REVIVES!
