Two Congregations Join in a Leap of Faith2 min read

The members of Lamb of God, Flint are truly a remarkable group of people. What they have accomplished for the Kingdom by bringing two congregations together to form one new congregation is something that is not commonly done, nor is it done successfully. These committed and deeply faithful people have accomplished the nearly improbable. Two have become one.

The evidence of this is witnessed in two specific ways that I was privileged to be involved. First, I assisted them in designing and implementing a capital campaign to raise a portion of the funds necessary to build a new facility. Former members of both Peace, Flint and Redeemer, Flint participated for several months in a campaign-planning process which they titled Leap of Faith. And that is exactly what they did. They stepped forward in faith, as one body of people making decisions as to what is best for all. The result was an outstanding campaign which raised significant financial resources that helped them accomplish the goal of building new and starting fresh.

The second observation came when I attended their new Worship Center Dedication Service on September 20, 2015. I witnessed a beautiful new building that is truly a reflection of the people of Lamb of God and what they have, and will continue to, accomplish together through their commitment to create a new congregational life and identity, while being committed to reaching the lost in their community. After the dedication service ended, they celebrated as one body in Christ’s name, in a brand new Worship Center dedicated to sharing the Gospel to all who will listen. For this wonderful accomplishment, we thank God, Who gave the members of Lamb of God the spirit to serve and the grace to serve together.

I must also mention and acknowledge Pastor Paul Boerger. He led this congregation through each step of the process. He did this with patience and wisdom, and with great compassion for Christ’s church and His people. We also thank God for calling Pastor Boerger to serve this flock at this important time in their history. He is, without doubt, the right pastor serving at the right time, and serving for the right purpose.

May God continue to bless Pastor Boerger and the members of Lamb of God with an abundant, visible, and special measure of His presence as they now go forward boldly and faithfully to share Christ in their community.
