The role of deacon is an important aspect of the mission of the church. Seeing the ministry as missional will help create moments of connection between people and the Gospel. We will be looking at our understanding of mission and the possibilities of deacons to champion missional work in the community.

Rev. Dr. Richard Blythe

Rev. Dr. Richard Blythe is the senior pastor at St. Paul, Trenton. Before coming to St. Paul, he served as the administrative pastor at a church plant in Pacific, Mo. and also as a missionary in Europe for LCMS World Missions. He received a PhD in Historical Theology from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. Pastor Blythe is a second-career pastor, having worked in the IT industry on the West Coast. He is currently supervising two deacon candidates.
