Rev. Randy Johnson
As a Congregation Mission and Ministry Facilitator (CMMF), Randy is responsible for developing strong, effective working relationships with assigned congregations by assisting with New Mission and Ministry starts, Mission Renewal, Pastoral Transition Study (Inventory, Survey, and Pastoral Profile), demographic study and counsel, strategic planning, and working with chaplains in the Michigan District.
Colonel Gary Danielsen
Rev. Gary Danielsen pastored churches in Maryland and Delaware for the first 9 years following his ordination in 1973. In 1977, he was endorsed as an Army Chaplain and commissioned as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. In 1982, he was certified by The Lutheran Council USA for specialized ministry and began serving as executive director of the Lutheran Council of Tidewater in Norfolk, Va., a social ministry agency providing community programs and chaplaincy services in area institutions.
From 1994 until his retirement in 2012, Danielsen served as president and CEO of Lutheran Services of Georgia (LSG), Atlanta. He retired from the Army in 2007 with the rank of Colonel after 30 years of military service.
Danielsen graduated in 1973 with an M.Div. from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. He earned a D.Min. from the University School of Theology, Boston, Mass. in 1993. Danielsen’s military education includes the U.S. Army Chaplain Basic and Advanced Courses, Chaplain Reserve Component General Staff Course, Ministry to the Chemically Dependent and Their Families Course, Hospital Ministry Course, The Middle East Course, Division Chaplain Course, PREP Marriage Enrichment course, and the Installation Chaplain Course. Also, he wrote “The Spiritual Care of Returning Veterans and Their Families” for the Journal of Pastoral Care.
