Concordia Plans, in partnership with CEF and the Michigan District, is providing a free, one-day workshop for active church workers (spouses are also welcome to attend!) to hear pertinent information about your CPS financial benefits (e.g., pension, 403(b), how to support your overall financial wellness), and ways to improve your physical and mental health. Lunch is included, along with attendance prizes!

Laura Scheer
Laura Scheer joined Concordia Plans in 2011, overseeing the administration of the Concordia Retirement Savings Plan 403(b). Now she engages directly with workers, using her financial coaching experience to help them build healthy financial habits and reach their financial goals. By educating workers about the important role their benefits play, she helps them improve their overall financial health. Laura has a bachelor’s degree from University of Missouri – Columbia, is an Accredited Financial Counselor® and a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist focusing on church retirement.

Amy Klein
Amy Klein joined Concordia Plans after serving at Lutheran high schools in New York, Michigan, and Missouri as a business and personal finance teacher. Amy supports LCMS church workers by improving their overall financial health, so that they are in a better position to serve in their ministries and share the Gospel. Amy received her bachelor’s degree from Concordia University Wisconsin and a Master’s in Business Education from Eastern Michigan University.

Kelly Menke
Kelly Menke holds a Master of Science in Public Health from Southern New Hampshire University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Education, with a Minor in Healthcare Administration, from Ashford University. She has almost 15 years of experience in a variety of health and wellness-oriented roles. As a military spouse (retired) and mother of 3, she has seen first-hand the health challenges and successes people from all over the country, in different stages of life, can experience. Her focus is on encouraging overall healthy lifestyle choices for prevention and improved management of health concerns.

Rev. Dan Ramthun
Pastor Dan Ramthun received his B.A. in Elementary Education from Concordia University Ann Arbor in 1983, and his M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University in 1995. Dan spent 7 years teaching in Lutheran grade schools before spending 21 years in various teaching/administrative roles at three Michigan Lutheran high schools. He was ordained in November of 2011. He served as pastor of St. Stephen, Detroit from 2006 until 2016 and, on March 1, 2016, he was installed at Guardian, Dearborn as associate pastor. Dan is married to Linda, and they have three children and one granddaughter. Dan loves to spend time with his family. He also enjoys following the Detroit sports teams, golfing, and reading.
