Parish Nursing, also known as Faith Community Nursing or Health, is dedicated to promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of individuals as part of the Christian stewardship of the whole person. This ministry emphasizes a holistic approach to health, recognizing that physical well-being is deeply connected to emotional and spiritual health. Through education, advocacy, and direct care, parish nurses and Congregational Health Ministers work within congregations to provide guidance, support, and health-related resources to their communities.
The Michigan District remains committed to advancing congregational health ministries and parish nurses within their churches. We are also dedicated to listening to the needs of the churches, parishioners, and their communities. We have several opportunities for fellowship time, learning, and collaboration. All are welcome, whether you are a parish nurse or someone serving as a caregiver, educator, or advocate within a faith community. Join us for these upcoming Human Care Ministry events:
