Jesus charged His apostles, “Repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in my name to all nations” (Luke 24:47). Since the onset of the Reformation, the Lutheran Church has boldly proclaimed repentance for the forgiveness of sins to all nations through her clear message of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone. What started with a German monk posting evangelical and ecclesiastical concerns on the chapel door in Wittenberg has blossomed into a wide-reaching, international presence of pure Gospel preaching and teaching.
