Speakers

Rev. Dr. Mark A. Seifrid is a professor of exegetical theology. A Concordia Seminary faculty member since 2015, he earned a Ph.D. in New Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, N.J. (1990), and an M.Div. and M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Ill. (1984). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Ill. (1975). He has published major works on justification in the New Testament and a commentary on 2 Corinthians, and is currently writing a commentary on Galatians. He has published numerous articles on Pauline theology and the doctrine of justification.

Rev. John T. Pless is assistant professor of pastoral ministry and missions at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, where he also serves as director of field education. Prior to joining the faculty, he served for seventeen years as campus pastor at University Lutheran Chapel at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. From 1979 to 1983, he served on the staff at the Chapel of the Resurrection at Valparaiso University. Since 2009, he has served as a visiting lecturer at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Pretoria, South Africa.

Dr. Angus J. L. Menuge is professor and chair of philosophy at Concordia University Wisconsin and President of the Evangelical Philosophical Society. Menuge is author of many journal articles and book chapters on the philosophy of mind, and has broad interests in philosophical and theological anthropology. He is editor of several books, including Reading God’s World (Concordia Academic Press, 2004) and Legitimizing Human Rights: Secular and Religious Perspectives (Ashgate, 2013), and author of Agents Under Fire: Materialism and the Rationality of Science (Rowman and Littlefield, 2004). With J. P. Moreland and Jonathan Loose, he is currently editing The Blackwell Companion to Substance Dualism (Wiley-Blackwell, forthcoming).

Rev. Dr. Todd A. Biermann is the Senior Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc, Mich. He earned his D.Min. from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne in 2012, with a focus on marriage and family relationships as guided by God’s Word. Heather L. Biermann earned her BA in Elementary Education from Concordia University Chicago in 1995 and taught at St. Mark Lutheran School in Cleveland, Ohio before taking a leave to raise and home-school their two children. Rev. Biermann and his wife, Heather, have been presenting Marriage in God’s Way seminars throughout the U.S. and in Central and South America since 2006. On their blog site, http://www.LifeinGodsWay.com, Dr. Biermann regularly shares insights on how to live ALL of life’s relationships based on God’s guidance for marriage.
