The Michigan District welcomed six pastoral candidates and six vicars to its roster last week.
On Tuesday, April 26, and Wednesday, April 27, pastoral candidates received their placement at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. (CSL) and Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind. (CTS) respectively. Those receiving their first placements from CSL include: Jeffrey Burgess (St. Matthew, Mancelona); Tyler Carter (Immanuel, Grand Rapids); Nikolai Gibbons (Immanuel, Macomb); Joseph Polzin (Trinity, Gaylord and Mount Hope, Grayling); Christopher Troxel (Trinity, Utica); and Jonathan Williams (St. Peter, Big Rapids). Vicar assignments from CSL include: Adan Garcia (St. Lorenz, Frankenmuth); Andrew Hatesohl (Our Savior, Lansing); Ahren Reiter (St. Matthew, Walled Lake and Wixom Campus); and Joshua Schmidt (Messiah, Clio). Vicars assigned to Michigan congregations from CTS include: Paul Morrison (St. Peter, Eastpointe) and Roger Mullet (Trinity, St. Joseph).
“What impresses me most about these men is the humble attitude that God had chosen them to serve in the ministry and the genuine excitement about receiving their calls. Most had no idea where they were going,” remarked Rev. Dr. David P. E. Maier, president of the Michigan District.
Please keep these students and their families in your prayers as they transition from seminary life into vicarage and full-time ministry.
