Facebook Resolutions for the New Year1 min read

New Year’s Resolutions for Facebook

  • Before signing on to Facebook, I will pray Psalm 19:14. I will also print out a copy for my desk.
  • I will listen more and post less. There’s a difference between posting and engaging.
  • When possible, I will go beyond the “Like” button and comment with words of encouragement and/or support.
  • Prior to commenting on anything, I will pause for 10 seconds (or however long it takes), take a deep breath, and think through my response.
  • Once a week, I will ask my online friends, “How can I pray for you?”
  • I will share at least one update a week from my church’s Facebook page to my personal newsfeed.
  • I will budget the time I spend on Facebook and online.
  • I will remember these words:

Christ Has No Online Presence but Yours

Christ has no online presence but yours,

No blog, no Facebook page but yours,

Yours are the tweets through which love touches this world,

Yours are the posts through which the Gospel is shared,

Yours are the updates through which hope is revealed.

Christ has no online presence but yours,

No blog, no Facebook page but yours.
