DESCRIPTION:Reconciliation—a word\, a concept\, a process!? The world certainly has its own idea of what it means to be reconciled. Even in Christian circles we often carry this worldview baggage with us\, conflating it with God’s Word\, trying to come up with our own way of repairing relationships. We may start thinking that reconciliation is for us and OUR broken relationships\, to the point of neglecting those to whom we are called to minister. What then can we do to minister to those we serve on staff\, in the congregation\, and out into the world? In this conference\, Rev. Dr. Todd Biermann will guide and engage us in what God’s Word says about reconciliation and how it takes shape in one’s life\, family\, the Church\, and the world. Indeed\, we will explore and have the opportunity to internalize being “Reconciled Inside and Out … in Christ”.

We ARE certainly a MESS in our sin and shame. But God reached into that mess and showed us His great love and mercy\, reconciling us to Himself through His Son\, Jesus Christ. \nWe invite the middle school youth of our District to join us July 30–August 1 for MESSY MERCY. It is going to be three days of messy fun\, messy friends (old & new)\, and messy lessons of God working in His creation and our lives.

SUMMARY:Extending the Shepherd’s Reach: Spiritual Care in the Congregation
DESCRIPTION:Although the role of elder often varies from congregation to congregation\, we consistently see the biblical emphasis on spiritual leadership demonstrated in practical ways by spiritually mature followers of Jesus. This training event is designed for pastors and their lay leaders who have been identified as spiritual leaders in their respective congregations and therefore have been elected or appointed to serve as elders–extensions of the pastoral office for the care and nurturing of God’s people. This is important work and a high calling from God through His Church.\n\n\n  \n\nElders will want to be well prepared and continually growing in relationship to Jesus Christ\, the Lord of the Church\, and in effective service to His people with their pastor. This workshop will help them do just that.
