As Christians, we are a people who are “in the world, but not of the world.” As the nation around us continues to embrace a culture of death, how can we learn from the example of Elijah to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and stand firm in our faith as people of God, the author and giver of life? At this conference, we will examine the life of Elijah, the message that he preached to a nation straying from God, and be comforted that the Word of the Lord endures forever. We will also be studying current life issues and how to speak clearly on important cultural matters. Join us!

Since 1994, Positive Alternatives in the Thumb of Michigan has offered pregnancy tests, ultrasound referrals, parenting classes, adoption referral, spiritual, emotional, and material support (baby clothes [newborn-3T], baby equipment, blankets, diapers, and more). The center serves women and men from the greater Thumb area with counseling and prayer.
Primarily, Positive Alternatives acts as a counseling service to help women through their pregnancies. Counselors at the center work with each woman individually and help her find her strengths. They encourage younger clients to continue their education and earn high school and college degrees.
Along with in-house counseling and assistance, the center has also helped families who were victims of fires. It also does awareness programs with high schools and youth groups to promote abstinence as a lifestyle. The agency is faith-based and works closely with local churches to provide religious support and comfort throughout the course of a pregnancy, as well as helping counsel young parents into good parenting practices.
The main goal is to help struggling parents as Jesus Christ met the spiritual and physical needs of people. Positive Alternatives expects nothing in return.
