This workshop is focused on the effect of a robust, biblical understanding and confident exercise of prayer in the systems, life, and ministry of a congregation in transition. Dr. Bill Dasch, a LCMS full-time pastor for 42 years who now leads a full-time prayer ministry, will share his theological, psychological, and experiential insights into prayer as systemic intervention as congregations work through the Five Developmental Tasks of an Interim Time.

Speaker

Rev. Dr. Bill Dasch

A cutting-edge leader in prayer for healing and wholeness (body, mind, and spirit), Dr. Dasch earned an M.Div. from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Ill. and an Ed.D. in counseling from Texas A & M at Commerce. He served three churches in 42 years as a pastor, and each grew and became a church of prayer. Dasch is known as a dynamic speaker who combines solid biblical teaching with real-life psychological issues. He has conducted workshops on various topics and spoken in Canada, Mexico, and many US states. He has also published articles in the Lutheran Witness and written a workbook and leader’s guide on Reclaiming the Healing and Wholeness Ministry of Jesus. Dasch and his wife Sheila have three sons.

Rev. John Weldon

Rev. John H. Weldon graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO and was ordained in 1971.  He received an M.A. in Medieval Studies, with minor in Church History, from Fordham University, NY in 1979, and pursued additional graduate coursework. He has served 4 pastorates in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (1971–2006); and served 6 intentional interim parishes in Pennsylvania and Michigan from 2009 to the present. He and his wife, Sharen, re-located from Pittsburgh to Saginaw in 2017. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. He is presently finishing an Interim position at Trinity-St. James, Munger.
