The Michigan District is pleased to announce the launch of its podcasting stream. The Thought Leader Podcast is an eclectic collection of episodes produced or curated by the executive staff of the Michigan District. The podcast will cover topics including theology, leadership, church and/or school administration, and ministry tips. The purpose of the Thought Leader Podcast stream is to equip servant leaders (both professional church workers and lay leaders) for effective ministry by discussing trends in applied theology and sharing ministry tools. The 10- to 15-minute audio episodes are designed to be easily incorporated into a daily commute or workout routine. What is a podcast and why should I care?
A podcast is similar to the radio program of the not too distant past. It consists of an individual or small group of individuals who are discussing a topic of interest. Unlike radio programs, podcasts can be accessed through a variety of technologies, from desktops to cell phones. They are better than radio programs in two significant ways: first, they can be listened to at your leisure; you don’t have to worry about missing your favorite program because you’re called away when the program is broadcast. They are available at any time. Second, new updates and episodes can be sent to your device automatically as they become available. You won’t have to waste time searching for the newest and greatest. Many people find that podcasts are a great form of entertainment and continuing education during their commute or daily exercise routines.
